Is Jiu Jitsu for me? 

Yes! We have students of all ages, shapes and sizes, from couch potatoes to seasoned athletes. No experience is necessary. Our goal is to provide a safe and fun environment where everyone can learn. We encourage everyone to give the gentle art a try - the first class is free, no strings attached! 

 I am new to Jiu-Jitsu - what class should I go to?  

 Whether you are new to jiu-jitsu or to martial arts all together, we will accommodate you.  All of our classes welcome all levels (note that we do not recommend open mat as a first class). The schedule is available here.  

What do I need to wear for my first class?

If you are new to jiu-jitsu, please wear light, comfortable clothing. We will loan you a gi for your first class. 

 Is there an enrollment period? 

No, we welcome signups at anytime.  

 I am a visitor from out of town. Can I come train?

We would welcome it! Drop in fees are $20 per class per visitor, and all of our classes are open to visitors. We have loaner gis for those who don't want to lug theirs along during their travels.  

Do I need to sign up in advance?

No sign up is necessary. Just come in a few minutes early to sign a waiver.
 

Do I need to sign a contract to train? 

No, we do not require a contract. We want you to train because you like to, not because you have to!

My gi has patches/branding from a different gym. Can I still wear it?

Absolutely! We only care that your gi is clean, out of respect for your training partners. 

 How many people are in a class? 

Class size varies by time of day, week and even year, but we typically don't have more than 15 people in our adult classes or 10 in our kids' classes. Our instructors and upper belts all strive to ensure that everyone gets the level of attention and instruction that they need in order to get the most out of their class. 

Do you have a shower/bathroom facilities?

Yes we do. We encourage bringing your own towel and to limit shower time to 5 minutes to allow others to use the space. 

Is there somewhere for me to watch while my child/friend/parent takes class? 

Yes, we have plenty of seating!

Do you have parking?

We have plenty of parking in the lot of our building, and additional parking can be found in the adjacent hospital lot.
